Vous n'avez encore rien vu review

Posted : 10 years, 10 months ago on 27 June 2014 02:01 (A review of Vous n'avez encore rien vu)

3 stars just as my hommage to Resnais. He is too demanding throwing us, by a mischievous plot, to the representation of a play not clear for anyone. More than one actor plays the same role, there is a thir company playing it in film, the locations break the space. But the actors (Amalric. Piuccoli, Arditi, Azema, even Lambert Wilson and Anne Consigny) are great

Floating Skyscrapers review

Posted : 10 years, 10 months ago on 27 June 2014 01:56 (A review of Floating Skyscrapers)

Fatalist but in a way sincere. Two opposite gay characters but appasionate for each other the same: one denies it going also with women; the other procalims it without having to. And ends too sadly.

Child's Pose review

Posted : 10 years, 10 months ago on 27 June 2014 01:53 (A review of Child's Pose)

I love the way of attacking the plot, meeting the charaters distracted, in events far from the facts (great actress Luminita Gheoghiu is dancing, or at the opera, when she is beated by the plot). In the end there's is another approach, frontal, almost melodramatic.

Salinger review

Posted : 10 years, 10 months ago on 27 June 2014 01:49 (A review of Salinger)

'Complete' is a good description for this doc. Every man and woman alife who talked or lived or romanced or just photographed Salinger is here. The result is that you're are not sure of loving him as you love him before the doc. I feel the Sadness and resignation of Hotchner when he recalls the day their friendship ended.

Ida review

Posted : 10 years, 10 months ago on 27 June 2014 01:46 (A review of Ida)

In this brief account of painful polish themes:the sweet posession of an inminent nun, the corruption of good and bad people, the indolence of the witnesses, the uneasiness of judgement (the judge commits suicide). As if you were seeing the Wajda christ head down ("Ashes and diamonds"), without seeing it. After the hell and the life and the sex, the nun becomes nun. Thats the escape.

Like Father,Like Son review

Great subject that of children changed at birth by mistake; Hirokazu Koreed exploits it with the deepness of an essay but never losing the lineal and simple narration. They are the characters who say what they have to say.

Vivir es fácil con los ojos cerrados review

Posted : 10 years, 10 months ago on 27 June 2014 01:38 (A review of Vivir es fácil con los ojos cerrados)

Ocho apellidos vascos (2014) review

Posted : 10 years, 10 months ago on 27 June 2014 01:35 (A review of Ocho apellidos vascos (2014))

My Dog Killer review

Posted : 10 years, 10 months ago on 27 June 2014 01:31 (A review of My Dog Killer)

Indolent, rude, only in that vein could be moving. I was moved, particularly, by the innocence of the little discriminated brother in spite of the rejection of his 'white'brother. And, of course, by the assumptiom, of the racist friends, that our main character is accepted just because of his pitbull.

Bello onesto emigrato Australia sposerebbe compaesana illibata review

Posted : 10 years, 11 months ago on 5 June 2014 12:52 (A review of Bello onesto emigrato Australia sposerebbe compaesana illibata)

Great, poetic realism where don´t expect to find it, in the middle of apparent popular sexy comedy which this film is not. Everything flows because Zampa has the eyes of a man in new territory, just guided -literally, as Claudia- by a character ashamed of being himsel. I was moved by Sordi.
