(OK) Crawford is too stupid for the lines he spell to Tracy, wich is a pathetic tycoon most of the film. Curtis vharacter is better for his schemes, and even Leo Gorcey's rascal brother laugh...

(OK) The obvious social worries and ironies (Montalban loves the system that treats so unfair) are compensated with secondary characters with remarks that moves everrything, as te officer and, best of all, Claire Trevor (great trying to seduce shirtless Ricardo). Winters is good, but too weak character...

(YT) This film is touched by grace, even conventional scenes and edit reels as the one in close ups of the dreaming boys with pin ups and music, is marvellous. Ernie Pyle/Meredith introduces such a conrpehensible and not invasive new look, while classic culture (great shots in the ruins of a sicilian town) is being destroyed while men are trying to live and even marry...

(OK) Psycho melodrama, with a soft elegance in Ann Todd's face, her piano concertos and an excellent backstage scene in wich one understands the impossible love between her and Mason...

(OK) So nice, so fluent, it has a charm, a sprit, the choral dances are great and even the smaller ones with Lawford in french...

(YT) Great character, marginal, comic, tender with some as his friend Kolya and rude with others, and finally existential looking for his roots...

(OK) Nice not so little war romantic comedy, hoy they've changed, brave but tender al last. Kerr is radiant and Donat is correct, good support by Glynis Johns...

(YT) Pure conventional correct Lang. he is always ok with what he has. Merman is delightful, O'Connor is restrained even in the dance by Vera Ellen, Sanders amuses himself...

(YT) Yeah, the best is the idea of the long intro in 1600 Globe Theatre, with theatrical restraint (first lost when you see dying Falstaff after the secen outside dominated by great Robert Newton) ; and passing to conventional fiction.

(OK) Vanel in a great comporistion, bavard, elocuent, cinic even in the big tragic finale, trying not to lose a contract. The encounter with Marquis de Porcellet is the best, and (see it in french) some great remaks: "you can't be happy here wich such a heart".
