Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye (1950) review

Posted : 9 years, 8 months ago on 1 September 2015 12:25 (A review of Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye (1950))

So great in argument (1950's noir is gold), in acting (Cagney is as good as in "White heat", this in fact is also white heat coloure; Payton is excellent in her transformation); you feel the pólice corruption in Bond's character...

The Strawberry Blonde (1941) review

Posted : 9 years, 8 months ago on 1 September 2015 12:20 (A review of The Strawberry Blonde (1941))

You feel the nostalgia of not so lost times; the manly characters, love tirumphs over false friendship. Rita is wonderful, form enchanting to bitchy but finally on the level with Biff (Cagney) and Amy (Olivia). Music is part of action in a non musical, just wlashian way. Hale at its funniest.

Manpower review

Posted : 9 years, 8 months ago on 1 September 2015 12:15 (A review of Manpower)

Men's work mathces perfectly with. Each character is swell, even Marlene (never so simple and natural), and friendship is a important as love. The group of friends is haeksina. Alan Hale resumes Walsh spirit.

Destino review

Posted : 9 years, 8 months ago on 25 August 2015 01:44 (A review of Destino)

Disney was capable of too many cinematic adventures, but this one, matching with Dali was so bizarre and in a way so reasonably arty, that its rare that was cancelled and had to wait posterity to be finished.

Posted : 9 years, 8 months ago on 25 August 2015 01:41 (A review of Fantasia 2000)

The flamingo-Saint Saens episode is wonderful, playful, comic, superb. The whlaes stuff is too solemn, the Rhapsody in blue is too argumentative.

The Roots of Heaven review

Posted : 9 years, 8 months ago on 25 August 2015 01:39 (A review of The Roots of Heaven)

It´s up to its fame. Niaf existencialism by Romain Gary and french souvenir muse Juliette Grecco, imposible actress. Flynn drinks more than acting, Welles is just visiting, Lukas is terrible. Eddie Albert and the elephants are the best.

Last Words review

Posted : 9 years, 8 months ago on 23 August 2015 04:34 (A review of Last Words)

Strange short, in the fringe of the filming of "Signs of life", with sense of humour and accomplices in the cretian town, playing with repetition of texts, popular music and common sense

Herakles review

Posted : 9 years, 8 months ago on 23 August 2015 04:30 (A review of Herakles)

The very beginning of Herzog. From the gym and from the very human urge to build muscle, you can ironize too easily on the man made world, its harmony and its conflict.

The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser review

Posted : 9 years, 8 months ago on 23 August 2015 04:27 (A review of The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser)

Maybe, with 'Aguirre',the best Herzog. It is clear, illuminate, tender, you feel the tension of Kaspar coping with civilization and logic and religion.

La Soufrière - Warten auf eine unausweichliche Katastrophe review

Posted : 9 years, 8 months ago on 23 August 2015 04:21 (A review of La Soufrière - Warten auf eine unausweichliche Katastrophe)

Just a short, almost improvised adventure in a deserted island. I like this non rethorical not too much filosofical Herzog.
