(OK) Western comedy from Aldrich, but also Gene Wilder coming of wisdom to America, from coast to coast, robbers, indians and whatever. Ford's character has a forced relation wiht Wilder, is the corny stuff...

(MU) Jarmusch in light simple taxi sketches, the Los Angeles one woth Gena and Winona is light, ok; the NY with esposito, Mueller and Rosie Perez is better mixing cultures and characters, go deeper; the Paris one is a bit pahetic; the Rome one has Benigni in a round tragicomic sketch reminiscent of the Sordi accidental taxi sketch with an agonizing man in "I nuovi mostri"; the best is the hommage to Kaurismaki finland world in Helsinki...

(MU) Nice not so ambitious opera prima, nostalgic of a disfunctional family, with new bonds, or precarious bonds looking better than they are to the boys, a denial of the usual fatalist coming of age films...

(OK) The huge director's cut has no waste. Even the interview of the man cleaning the sewers is great or the boys calling therir families in booth, the liberation of an accidental moving city in a disaster area; and, the excellence of many numbers knowing they are history:Cocker, Baez, the first one by RitchieHavens, Joplin, Hendriz is sad an eh end, Sly and "Higher" is great.....

(OK) De Antonio has the right interview for his camera, or the right archive image, tu establish a point of a not solved problem; its an almost acadmeic approahc but in an unamerican anti belicist left wing side....

(MU) Good rescur of a not so simple film, tha in soft key exposes the identity traume a a misplaced man, coming from France and not coping with womne liberation, cultural melange and other things...

(OK) Lesser Sidney, lesser argument, could be a modest Disnye films for boys reunitirn a widow mom with Gig Young and ballooning over the skies....

(OK) Aldrich has no traumas in exposing the cops in all their misery and humanity. The racist one causes all tragedies and is condecorated, the homofobia and fobia to sexy body masochism is so big that makes Perry King takes his life, Durning is as moving as Geroge C Scott in The new centurions (its the same in another style)....

(MU) Good topic, softly and then happily celebrated, the masochism of a secretary marryinh her obsessive dominans insecure James Spader boss...

(OK) Glimpses of best era of Sidney in musicals. Janet Legh is impressive in 'cleopatra look' number; Birdie is a sweet parody of Presley, Ann Margret is a pitty her stradom in the agonizing era of musicals...
