Blue Valentine review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 31 December 2022 11:06 (A review of Blue Valentine)

(MU) Kinf of 'affected' love story of a doomed marriage between a talented girl and a macho sympathetic selfdestructive Bryan Gosling (he as convincing as Williams). The confusing sructure of mixing past and presence, contradicts its naturalism...

The Quiet Girl review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 31 December 2022 10:52 (A review of The Quiet Girl)

(MU) So delicate, adults make some philosophy on the quiet girl that has to make spontaneous choices on speaking when asked by them. Kind, subtle observations, de-dramatized but never dried of emotion....

Suplement review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 31 December 2022 10:49 (A review of Suplement)

(MU) Zanussi gets an entire new film on the edge of "Life as sexual disease..."; alternating the story og the young doctor with vocational crisis with scenes of the other film. His quest on religion and drugs is only possible in the Poland with one foot in communism and the other in a new republic...

The Eternal Daughter review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 27 December 2022 01:34 (A review of The Eternal Daughter)

(OK) Hogg and Swinton can film whatever they want, and slip under the story even if it's hard to imagine a filmaker so shy and nervous as Swinton yong character. The ghostly theme is covered by atmosphere , too covered...

The Banshees of Inisherin review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 27 December 2022 01:31 (A review of The Banshees of Inisherin)

(OK) A masterpiece made on and about Ireland, the folk theme is an alibi to amuse and shock on emotional plot points that go to extremes: a man doesn't stand his friend and even cut his fingers to avoid him, each character each punchline, is full of innuendo and simpleton philosophy. How sympathetic, lovable and sad the suicidal boy....

Men review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 27 December 2022 01:26 (A review of Men)

(OK) Elegant existential psycho terror, with an anti or posfeminist touch (the heroine just see men harrasing her and in her extreme delirium tremens men give birth to men, good crescendo, good secondary freaks, good idea the hand divided in two...

Fire of Love review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 27 December 2022 01:22 (A review of Fire of Love )

(OK) Sara Dosa submerges in astonishing archive of the decesased couple of vulcanologists. Then emerges a great topic doccumentary on vulcans and a love story of professionals. Fascinating images of lava on the sea, grey explosions, freaky textures...

Bardo: False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 25 December 2022 02:41 (A review of Bardo: False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths)

Apollo 10 ½: A Space Age Childhood review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 25 December 2022 02:34 (A review of Apollo 10 ½: A Space Age Childhood)

(Nx) World and age of Linklater, a suburb near Nasa, pure nostalgia of a world coming og age in many ways, and in a happy place; all is a dream too close to reality, a long, long narration in off, remenbering an era, ellapses present...
