Close review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 15 January 2023 02:12 (A review of Close)

(PA) So delicate, so much is said just in silent close ups, tears now and then, the parents waiting the bus with the children (the great way to tell us that Remi maybe commited suicide) , and justice unsolved....becuase Remi´s friend tells Remi's mother he feels guilty, but bullying of the boys is not confessed...

The Fabelmans review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 15 January 2023 02:08 (A review of The Fabelmans)

(PA) Oh, Spielberg as personal and jewish and occasionally funny, as Allen. His coming og age is passing from 8mm to 16mm, and becoming aware through film editing that his mom is having and affaire with uncle Benny. The secuence in wich Michelle Williams see (just her face) what we already know is great...

Decision to Leave review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 15 January 2023 02:04 (A review of Decision to Leave)

(PA) Complex, multitone, multilayered 'polar', as noir as romantic, intimist, and all those pretensions are too much for a fil...but Chan-Wook somehoy gets a happ nont excellent mix. Sometimes he has Wong Kar Wai's taste for Hollywood and latin por music...

Kimi review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 15 January 2023 02:01 (A review of Kimi)

(PA) Simple little thriller, effective, doesn't gets heavy with its technological stuff because its in fact kind of Blow up (Antonioni) or Blow Out (De Palma) of digital era; bur the principle (find the audio trace of a crime in the background) is the same. Kimi is just a gimmick

Down Terrace review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 10 January 2023 03:48 (A review of Down Terrace)

(MU) Kitchen provincial gangster film. Wheatley is kind of Ken Loach making a ganster film in the trace of "Family life". A criminal family tries to reset life and disintegrates in trying...

Pearl review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 10 January 2023 03:46 (A review of Pearl)

(TB) So ugly in its premises (a simple psychopathic killer drama disguised as a study of repression) buy with interesting details (the crocodile, Mia Goth acting, the farm, the silent porn...).....

She Said review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 10 January 2023 03:29 (A review of She Said)

(TB) Good film of journalists (almost a genre in Hollywood) with strong structure subtly revealed in a choral charerization (the girl amazed by a filming in Ireland, then running, and later revealed as a key case), Ashley Judd by herself. Excellent acting in all the cast.

Sweetie review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 10 January 2023 03:24 (A review of Sweetie)

(MU) Campion, and Gerard Lee's screenplay, build a world for Sweetie in spite of everybody around her, progressing to her grand finale on the tree (don't want to spoil it). The trip to inner Australia -without Sweetie- is an elegy in the middle of all...

Benediction review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 10 January 2023 03:15 (A review of Benediction)

(OK) Depiction of gay ultrasophisticated drama and routine (poet Sigfried Sassoon, actor singer Ivor Novello, diverse socialites); dialogues are too heavy. The main character remains almost silent in the present time ans thats better. Davies abandons its poetic style for a classic academic narration, even in the delivering of poems by Sassoon.

Two Shots Fired review

Posted : 2 years, 5 months ago on 10 January 2023 03:04 (A review of Two Shots Fired )
