Valley of Love review

Posted : 9 years, 2 months ago on 13 March 2016 05:22 (A review of Valley of Love)

A surprise. Good two great actors film, so great Depardieu is someone as himself (his gag signing as De Niro is ok); with terrorific mystic supernatural touches in a specila hot landscape.

The Assassin review

Posted : 9 years, 2 months ago on 13 March 2016 05:19 (A review of The Assassin)

Beautiful, amazing nonviolent, bloodless fights with the fighters leaving each other in strange peace, seizing reluctantly its prey. Contemplative when has to, but enough action.

Truman review

Posted : 9 years, 2 months ago on 13 March 2016 05:16 (A review of Truman)

Tu mejor amigo es el mejor amigo de tu perro; una exploración sentimental, no cursi ni intensa, nice, de ese juego de sentimientos. Buenos actores. Dolores Fonzi un paso detrás de ellos.

Trumbo review

Posted : 9 years, 2 months ago on 8 March 2016 10:14 (A review of Trumbo)

Quick, well narrated, straight partial biography of Trumbo while blacklisted. Good lines well delivered by Cranston, sepcially discussing with Alen Hirsh.

Dheepan review

Posted : 9 years, 2 months ago on 8 March 2016 10:07 (A review of Dheepan)

Nothing outstanding in Dheepan¿s life because is beginning in each scene. I like the girl bieng sincere with him, and the meeting with the 'terrorist colonel'; but the end seems a violent Hollywood movie with the hero taking everything in his hands.

Standing Tall review

Posted : 9 years, 2 months ago on 8 March 2016 09:59 (A review of Standing Tall )

Is almost a genre in french films: the world has to stop to deal with the needs and bad moods of an anguished boy. Deneuve is ok because is 'froid' to all that, but comprehends in the end.

Life review

Posted : 9 years, 2 months ago on 2 March 2016 02:43 (A review of Life)

Loses time in name dropping and rude casting with lookalikes of Elia Kazan, Pier Angeli, Julie Harris, etc. The esential, wich is Pattinson accompanying Jimmy Dean in a singular rediscovery of its roots trip, lacks of intensity.

The Big Short review

Posted : 9 years, 2 months ago on 2 March 2016 02:38 (A review of The Big Short)

Too playful and ludicrous in moments where you could´ve asked for more explanations. But characters fight against its stereotypical cinicism, and have good lines for it. Baum (my favorite) says, after getting the whole picture of the cdos bubble in Las Vegas: "I'm gonna look for moral redemption in the roulette".

Suffragette review

Posted : 9 years, 2 months ago on 27 February 2016 12:06 (A review of Suffragette)

All women character, but radical violent anarchist desperate feeling is washed by the meniangful statement of Maud/Carey Mulligan. I prefer the the secondary characters, as the suicidal Emily and Violet.

Deadpool review

Hommage and spoof too clichés since the title sequence with the casitng of 'comic relief', 'moody teenager' ando so on. The vengeance motif is never loosen.
