Attila review

I like it. Good characters (moving honest Bleda/Ettore Mani; intriguing Loren; patetic coward Valentiniano/Laydu; elocuent passionate extreme Attila) anf good schematic scenes (Attila condemned by the agonizing bishop).

Pontius Pilate review

The Jesus story, recalled in the last part, ruins the Pilate story. Marais is ok, noble man affronting a dilema. Crain is as ornamental as Leticia Roman. The epic ir irregular, with a big battle witout historical importance.

Navajo Joe review

Big scope, tight acrobacies by indianlike Burt; but some gratuitous superficial violence. Corbucci is always ok preparing action.

Zulu Dawn review

A surprise. Modest in its blockbuster epic dimension. Good cast, a decadent view of an announced colonial defeat, a sensation os rareness more than fear to the herds of zulus. Small vivid characters as Hoskins and his son Daniels, the man that doesn't like to dliver the bullets while the army is dying. Interesting duel of styles of acting betwenn O'Toole and Lancaster

The Big Knife review

It has so much conviction put in demonstrate its antihollywood thesis, that has an ugly charm. I like Aldrichยดs rudeness. Palance and Steiger, one brute one brute and refined, are perfect matches for this torrid acting. Lupino, Hagen (the best), and winters ok.

Cesar & Rosalie review

Elegant, fine, well acted by stars Sautet naturalism. Romy is great and deserves without asking too much the colision and friendship of two men and two differetn approaches to love her: Montand's and Frey's.

3 Days of the Condor review

The CIA inside CIA plot is forgettable, but there are rare romantic and friemdly rapports between Redford and Dunaway and betwenn Redford and Von Sydow.

36 Hours review

Tired of plots around the secrets of D Day. If Seaton and Roal Dahl would've treated with more finesse and complexity the psyco induced levels, instead of forcing the romance with great Eve...

The Shawshank Redemption review

A popular classic 'tolerated' by the critic. In a way, the script is better than the film, because the narration in off by Freeman has great texts, as the one that makes his freedom. Old Whitmore is great.

Fiddler on the Roof review

Very fine music (If I were a rich man, Sunrise sunset, Matchmaker), and some good characters in coral scenes (the russian dances, the wedding), Paul Mann as the butcher in love is excellent.
