(OK) More star play by (in)mature Fonda tan plot. Bridges is ok, and there are somo loose noirish touches with Raul Julia, and good LA locations...

(BluR) Round, sharp, a militar prison on absurdity of regime more than cruelty. Each character poses dramatic and moral dilemmas beyond thier instincts of survival.Connery is pure star charism but not richess of detail. Redgrave is ok, Harry Andrews and Bannen are better. Alfred Lynch as Stevens, the cruellest, is maybe the best...

(Festival Lima) trabajo virtuoso con actores aparentemente naturales en fiesta de aniversario para un enfermo aparentemente terminal...demora en armarse y molesta la cámara muy cercano a los personajes, perdiendo detalles y dejando mucho espacio en off, pero tiene momentos, con encuadre abierto, de mucho encanto...

(BluR) Fading stars noir; tongue in cheek Newman, good simple dialogues with Garner and Hackman, romantic friendship betrayed in the end...

(MU) Spoiler alert since the beginning, and even so, touching composition of a tragic character, summing up his evil ways and his natural tenderness with kids and everybody...

(BluR) My only regret is that the greatness of the musicians and the cello remain unknown; but plot, cahracters,actors (Marielle surpasses Depardieu), photography, is more than ok
