Rushmore review

Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 16 April 2013 06:54 (A review of Rushmore)

The best of Wes Anderson, the right equilibrium of tenderness, comedy, extravance and realism. Schwartzman in his once in a lifetime character. His plays, full of naive FX, are a bonus

Broadway review

Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 16 April 2013 06:51 (A review of Broadway)

Don't like it. Fejos suffers the imposing sound, every sequence is forced to have two steady actors talking or scheming. The musicals are square, in spite of Tryons simpaty

The Last Performance review

Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 16 April 2013 06:45 (A review of The Last Performance)

A thriller with a touch of terror, and lack of surprise. But I like Veidt, Philbin and contrived and kind of handsome Fenton, who became an interesting director

Blazing Saddles review

Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 13 April 2013 12:25 (A review of Blazing Saddles)

When parody was a prolongation of a genre, as joyful as irreverent, with the hangover of the crepuscular westerns of the sixties. Kahn is superb in her Dietrich "Im tired" rendition. Korman is also great.

Sunday Bloody Sunday review

Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 7 April 2013 11:39 (A review of Sunday Bloody Sunday)

Daring subject, without sensationalism because of its warm nautralism.Finch is more convincent than light Murray Head and histrionic and unsedutive Glenda Jackson

Anatomy of a Murder review

Posted : 7 years ago on 31 March 2013 02:20 (A review of Anatomy of a Murder)

After those Saul Bass anthology credits, the false peace of justice being made in the province, ambiguity, doubts, open ending, but more love of truth than hipocresy. Dueke Ellington as bonus track, cant ask for more

Belle ma povere (1957) review

Posted : 7 years ago on 31 March 2013 02:14 (A review of Belle ma povere (1957))

Gets along fine with "Povere ma belle", Marisas character is forced in the plot but who cares, his jealousy schemes with Ricardo Garrone are OK, and éverything adds to a good choral ending

Poor, But Handsome (1957) review

Posted : 7 years ago on 31 March 2013 02:10 (A review of Poor, But Handsome (1957))

Could be poor but happy, because you feel the harmony of shortage, the bad temper of the guest Memmo Carotenuto, the intrigues of Marisa Allasio, the dancing almost nude bodies in the terrace neasr the Tiber...

Il tetto review

Posted : 7 years ago on 29 March 2013 10:11 (A review of Il tetto)

The last truly and simple neorrealist De Sica. Zavattini knew hoy to construct the perfect scenario without showing it and De Sica, more austere than ever, sacrifices a lot just to conquest us with the construction of the cabin
