(Mu) Zanussi is so inventive that sustains admirable a narration with less than episodes, graphic explanations, some dramatic scenes (as the hero coming back to an angry wife), a good route to literal 'ilumination'....

(NX) Tres estrellas y media es poco para Almodóvar. Aquí trata de explorar lo noir -todas las películas hablan de nosotros, le dice el ex cura a su querido Gael, saliendo de una película que no sabemos, cuando ya han decidido matar a Ignacio- pero ahí se queda, en un crimen cuyos resultados quedan sepultados casi sugeridos en una coda final. Pedro no sabe bien qué hacer con Gael...

(Mu) Simple, nice, the experimental side (mixing still shots with motion) flows, the shots of the tree and nature normlaizes the ghost/human tale...

(Mu) The part in Phillipines is much better, because the narration in off plays wonderfully with the poor surrondings; when in Europe, in cheap or forced humour. The ice facory, the circumcisions, the Werner Von Braun, the bridge, that´s the core of the film.

(Mu) Big debut for Bengal. Has all: Rural erotism, critci to feudal India, melodrama, contrats of generations and rich and poors. Shaban Azmi is wonderful in her naiveté, sumitting sexually to her patron, carign for his deaf husband, and, at the end, cursing..'You are cursed by the poor people', she shouts...

(Mu) Why Martha makes me as angry as her central character? The heroine is unsufferable as other Meszaros heroines, because she doesn't share her truth with everybody, even when supposedly is being honest...

(Mu) Lavardin/Poiret is too central here, not just the cop, but the old flame of Lafont and the one who solves the crime, covering the assasin girl who killed in self defense. The intrigue of the not dead father i weak. But Chabrol and Poiret don't loose the flair

(Mu) Lavardin enters when the story and toned is setted, but is fantastic pressing handsome Lucas, who is the real hero of the film, in spite of his psycho mother Stephane Audran. Small french cities are perfect for polar...

(OK) First complete Sirk melodrama, music as one of the themes, some mystic and painfull scenes, some emphasis in angles, boy most of all a good narration in spite of two and three times story...

(OK) Musis and easy romance in a mix of Spapin and Arabia, with russians in Hllywood marine style. Donlevy is spirited and Eve Arden is funny, becuase Ivonne is a lousy dancer and Aumont is a big smile and not the handsome star he could be...
