Diary of a Lost Girl (1929) review

Posted : 4 years, 1 month ago on 9 May 2021 08:03 (A review of Diary of a Lost Girl (1929))

(OK) This is after Pandora's Box, but could be a kind of prequel. The melodrama well extended in time and places, each a world itself, produces a careless lost girl next tu lulu...

The Outlaw Josey Wales review

Posted : 4 years, 1 month ago on 9 May 2021 07:38 (A review of The Outlaw Josey Wales)

(OK) The first great Eastwood, all his past and future themes are here, with humour and bitterness when it has to be. He's fatherly with Sam Bottoms, but friendl or even guided by Chief Dan George. In the end, he establishes a civilization in the canyon, plural and harmoniuos and wants to die for it... I can't take off my mind the dialogue between Chief and the old lady, where each syas 'no offence' and answers, 'not taken'....

Posted : 4 years, 1 month ago on 9 May 2021 07:33 (A review of The Old Fashioned Way)

(OK) The play inside the film has the entire charm of W.C, it even forces him to show his craftmanship as circus man. The duel with Baby LeRoy at dinner and all his ridicule apperances as a great actor, are so consistent...

(OK) Bergman repeats her Joan's passion exercised for Victor Fleming before, but for a such different mise a scene, that words weigh more than gestures. Carminati is all the chorus, the other ones are accesories...

Forbidden Games review

Posted : 4 years, 1 month ago on 9 May 2021 07:24 (A review of Forbidden Games)

(OK) Clement in perfect almost suspicious equilibrium. It's enough adult and irreverent and absurd too avoid the children menace. Fossey ir irresistible, and a bit perverse too...
