Wedding Rehearsal review

Posted : 5 years, 7 months ago on 20 October 2019 11:12 (A review of Wedding Rehearsal)

Tongue in cheak early Korda with a romantic final touch. Frivolity acted convincingly by Roland Young just to realiza he is a romantic as Oberon and everybody. The rehearsal has a spirit of simulacre.

Look Back in Anger (1959) review

Posted : 5 years, 7 months ago on 20 October 2019 11:05 (A review of Look Back in Anger (1959))

Too heavy Osborne dialogue by moments and for a charqacter as Burton, and too affected some play between Ure and Burton; but an overall, hard, anger impact against institutions as the police (Pleasance) and even theatre, Mom Evans is an remarkable exception

Gemini Man review

Posted : 5 years, 7 months ago on 18 October 2019 02:35 (A review of Gemini Man)

The less personal Ang Lee film. Can't expect more from this kind of plot, at least pretty locations as Cartagena and Budapest and Georgia forced because of productios reasons. The replicant/Will Smith clon, lacks drama

Joker review

Posted : 5 years, 7 months ago on 18 October 2019 02:33 (A review of Joker)

The olimpo allows you to tell the story of one of his gods, it's impossible to fail. But Phillips make it greater than expected, Phoenix is a gem in his hands, Gotham city molds everything (its not madness, its goddam gotham society)...

La morocha review

Posted : 5 years, 7 months ago on 13 October 2019 04:31 (A review of La morocha)

Rogue Cop (1954) review

Posted : 5 years, 7 months ago on 13 October 2019 04:29 (A review of Rogue Cop (1954))

Good noirish (not too much, this in an MGM film woth Bob Taylor and cute Janet and Anne Francis) film by simple straight fact Rowland. Anne throwing a bucket of ice to George Raft, that's nice, Taylos as a crooked conscious cop trying to save his brother, that's more than nice plot

All the clisés, but here's is an important for everybody hit, full of the warmth of american institutions, baseball, migrant dreams, even public relations (good ol Brennan), people of all kinds. The police acompanies Cooper/Gehrig to delcare to Teresa and to get, being just married, to the stadium

The 25th Hour review

Posted : 5 years, 7 months ago on 13 October 2019 04:18 (A review of The 25th Hour)

Ambitious, choral Verneuil, even everuthing is centerd on Quinn's charatcer. But he is, episodically, many characters made by others, includinnf the misisng link to arian origins. Add to this, the suicide of Reggiani, Virna Lisi and jews escaping holocaust
