'Thin man' copy with same Powell and otherwise Rogers. Too idiot plot trying to be smart and quick. Good support actors.

Freda knows how to use scope, wants to deal with pervertion (but doesn't catch it), and tries to make goo scenes with Presle and Cervi becuase the young ones are poor actors.

The Secret of Convict Lake review

Posted : 6 years ago on 8 April 2018 08:24 (A review of The Secret of Convict Lake)

Huis clos western by a non western director, Michael Gordon, who wants good characters instead of action and landscape. Tierney more mature than usual. Ann Dvorak is excellent, enlightens her character.

The Man I Married review

Too serious because of its time, but a touch of "Above of suspicion" (MGM similar charade) with the addition od the husband became a nazi.

Red Line 7000 review

Posted : 6 years ago on 8 April 2018 01:53 (A review of Red Line 7000)

Hawksian it is, but so poor. Howard trasnfers his men's aerial brotherhood, to the race tracks and to the new liberated women; but with a limited cast and poor dialogues.

Il tenente Giorgio review

Posted : 6 years ago on 8 April 2018 01:51 (A review of Il tenente Giorgio)

Blessed Matarazzo's melodramas. Here is the period piece, bandits and soldiers, bur they stop, Girotti whoe else, in the middle of a familiar feud and and a sex clash. Then, a collar, a recognition, a blind pater familias, a wheelcharied man, great.

A Fantastic Woman review

Posted : 6 years, 1 month ago on 1 April 2018 04:21 (A review of A Fantastic Woman)

Prefiero "Gloria" pero Lelio está bien; caracter fuerte que soporta bien la historia (los secundarios son débiles) y con sutiles toques fantásticos. Final flojo.

God's Gift to Women review

At least Curtiz works on its rythm and vitality. Bot a lousy script with long reiterative sequences.
