Such Good Friends review

Posted : 6 years, 10 months ago on 24 June 2018 08:44 (A review of Such Good Friends)

Premminger in clue, as Meredith dancing naked just for the eyes of Dyan Cannon who returns the gift for us, in a nudie for his friend. The death of arrogant Richard is moving because you see the indolence and resignation of everything, everybody.

The Devil Commands review

Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 18 June 2018 02:32 (A review of The Devil Commands)

Dmytrick begins to learn his stuff. Karloff is always convincing incarnating the fight between wrong and evil. Ann Revere is devil herself and the fantastic angle is well concentrated in the 'meeting' of corpses...

The L-Shaped Room review

Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 18 June 2018 02:29 (A review of The L-Shaped Room)

The force of Forbes before going to Hollywood... Caron really wants to go adult in spite of having a false "27 years old" here. Intimate, good characters (dear old Mavis, soft jealous Brock Peters)...

The Boss Baby review

Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 18 June 2018 02:19 (A review of The Boss Baby)

Too many explanations of the invented world and its codes, too many dreams inside a story that in a way is a dream factory. All this is a common default of animation blockbusters..

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks review

Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 18 June 2018 02:17 (A review of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks)

Trepidant but not wise film on an interesting case, with racist angle in its right place. Oprah is ok, good contrat with Rose Byrne.

Mudbound review

Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 18 June 2018 02:09 (A review of Mudbound)

It happens with almost all the cycle of anti racist comtemporary films that they depict a world so infamous and violente, that is difficult to see the understanding that is also there. And, when it tries to do so, as in here, its also violent....

Septiembre o Un llanto En Silencio review

Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 18 June 2018 02:03 (A review of Septiembre o Un llanto En Silencio)

Lo íntimo y lo político y lo nacional en una misteriosa conexión escondida en la voluntad del director. La sordera del personaje acaba pro no ser elocuente.

La musica del silenzio review

Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 13 June 2018 12:03 (A review of La musica del silenzio)

Sex appeal of disability opera and success. Everybody is good here, just take time to make Amos (later Andrea) famous.

Bay of Angels review

Posted : 6 years, 11 months ago on 11 June 2018 02:40 (A review of Bay of Angels)

Could be the best Demy. It's a shame that nouvelle vague has hidden this chef d'ouvre fait coincidentally at its peek. The casino allows Demy to play with ups and downs on existence, in a bipolar nihilistic and romantic extremes. The final is great.
