Judith review

Posted : 7 years, 3 months ago on 19 November 2017 11:59 (A review of Judith)

Sexy Loren misplaced in recent born Israel; forcin a plot for her vengeance, with the hagana calculating every emotional twist on her. Mmmhhh.

Until They Sail review

Wise wise; resting in women until men come back from war. It was difficult to be really adult in late 50s, so he froces contrart between restrictive Fontaine and rebel without a cause Laurie, after being married to Wally Cassell.

Bebo's Girl review

Posted : 7 years, 3 months ago on 19 November 2017 11:54 (A review of Bebo's Girl)

So delicate romantic fatalism. A sad but not painful story as Claudia says in present tense before the flashback. She really loves Bube, in spite of her apparently free spirit.

Ball of Fire review

Posted : 7 years, 3 months ago on 19 November 2017 11:51 (A review of Ball of Fire)

Those enciclopedic old men don't onow 'it' and 'it' is 'it', those volcanic understated force in Hollywood, thanks to Hays code. Billy and Lubitsh, and Hawks directing a Billy & Brackett screenplay here; are the best in 'it'.

Tunes of Glory (1960) review

Posted : 7 years, 3 months ago on 13 November 2017 01:18 (A review of Tunes of Glory (1960))

Impeccable dialogue, acting tour de force, twisted emotions with characters always feeling guilty and unsecure after their outburts, unpredictability. A personal rediscoyery.

The Clockmaker of St. Paul review

Posted : 7 years, 3 months ago on 13 November 2017 01:05 (A review of The Clockmaker of St. Paul)

Tavernier goes firmly and secure (Simenon moral thriller) but not too ambitious in his first film. Lyon has a forced character on its own.

Okja review

Posted : 7 years, 3 months ago on 13 November 2017 01:03 (A review of Okja)

3 stars just for wierdness, becuase characters are uniformly too stupid and stereotyped. The Mirando/Monsanto stuff versus animalists/white terrorists is good stuff.

In Old Arizona review

The early sound provides interesting realism, sexy pre code, above the machista plot. Poor Dorothy Burgess, betraying Baxter
