Goodbye Charlie review

Posted : 7 years, 4 months ago on 7 October 2017 09:11 (A review of Goodbye Charlie)

Too moderate, I expected more sex play with the idea of a man tourned women after apparent death. At least, there are crooked characters as Matthau and Charlie/Debbie her/himself

Stars in My Crown review

Posted : 7 years, 4 months ago on 7 October 2017 09:00 (A review of Stars in My Crown)

A pastoral symphony, the duality of doctor and parson is very well done, both are dignified. The ku klux klan with feelings, deciding no to hung Juano Hernandez, is moving. Tourneur is excellent.

The Horn Blows at Midnight review

Posted : 7 years, 4 months ago on 7 October 2017 08:55 (A review of The Horn Blows at Midnight)

The lesser Walsh, in spite of always elegant and zanny Benny, but there are a bit unsufferable the routines between Benny and Dolores Moran.

Battle Cry review

Posted : 7 years, 4 months ago on 7 October 2017 08:54 (A review of Battle Cry)

Perfect timing, intetwinning of stories, prevalence of some of them, cast, heart, dialogues. And something special; this is really a sexy film for 1955 standards, and thanks to the romance between Tab and Dorothy Malone.

The Next Skin review

Stefan Zweig: Farewell to Europe review

Posted : 7 years, 5 months ago on 25 September 2017 03:15 (A review of Stefan Zweig: Farewell to Europe)

Always bee intrigued and fascinates by the self ending of the Zweigs in Petropolis. Here I just see them, death in the bed, reflecting in a mirror (nice moving touch) but anyhow, in dialogues and Stefan staring the landscape, maybe thinking in Europe's hell and the impossibility of cope with it in this evasive place; it's the answer.

Sieranevada review

Posted : 7 years, 5 months ago on 25 September 2017 03:11 (A review of Sieranevada)

Rumany found a place in 'world cinema', as Iran had. But the long, realistic, sequence shot real time look on its social decomposition after the wall broke; is too heavey to share, ah...

Song to Song review

Posted : 7 years, 5 months ago on 25 September 2017 03:07 (A review of Song to Song)

How Malick begun loosing interest; repeating himself inside the same film, as an outdated Antonioni? Here you can look for a response in Austin, Texas, with musical background (Iggy and Patti), and a trip to Yucatan.

Listen to Me Marlon (2015) review

Posted : 7 years, 5 months ago on 25 September 2017 03:05 (A review of Listen to Me Marlon (2015))

Too long and eloquente a lifetime, so Riley catches just some themes; but misses to develop more the one he choses to articulate the biopic: teh tragedy about his children. Anyway, good audio, phtos and clips and everything.
