Little Man, What Now? review

Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 26 October 2014 08:07 (A review of Little Man, What Now?)

Borzage at its best with those sublimation of eroticism close ups, an inteligen argument (he tells his wife that he has to fake he could marry the boss's daughter, her mother runs a dobious business), and a sublimation of communist subversion too.

The Milky Way review

Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 26 October 2014 08:03 (A review of The Milky Way)

Some long routines on the simple basis of Harold in boxing business (with glasses), but some splendid gags when he poses as famous and thrills and shines ans throw his hat as a boomerang.

The Dance of Reality review

Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 23 October 2014 02:18 (A review of The Dance of Reality)

Weekend review

Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 23 October 2014 02:14 (A review of Weekend)

The sequence shot in the highway is worth the picture. Besides it, I like the humour in the route, Darc and Yanne over each other, hitchhiking, witnessing a 'lutte de classes' discussion.

Cinderfella review

Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 23 October 2014 02:06 (A review of Cinderfella)

Jerry at his best as gag, visual, dancing, clowning psicocomedian. In the commentary, he recalls the film as if Tashlin didn't exist. But there he is, giving the film its elegant, wonderful frames.

Good Sam (1948) review

Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 11 October 2014 08:56 (A review of Good Sam (1948))

Slow, long by comedy standards, verborragic scenes, but one solid argument: everything in the film points to the charitative spirit of Cooper ans its limits. Couls be the parabel of the good man.

It Always Rains on Sunday review

Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 11 October 2014 08:50 (A review of It Always Rains on Sunday)

A choral, East End, tender and vulgar symphony. Googie and her lost erotism fixed on Tommy Swan (McCallum)stands among everything.

Luz de domingo review

Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 8 October 2014 12:51 (A review of Luz de domingo)

Moby Dick review

Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 4 October 2014 04:05 (A review of Moby Dick)

Seen again after reading Melville: all wich is freedom of time, explanation on whaling, relaxed structure in the book; in Huston is narrative conomy, selection of best lines.
