Salon Kitty review

Nazisexploitation at its best, with thriller rythm and plot, 'cabaret' appearance, good cast (Thulin and Berger, the visconti 'dammed' pair).

The Outsiders (1983) review

Almost Copolla´s "Last picture show", but here there´s more nostalgia than agony or decadence, and some incredible, almost corny twists (the heroism of Maccio, Dillon and Howell). In spite of some repetitions(the brothers embracing too many times), I like the strong relation between all the boys.

La parmigiana review

Lovable unprejudiced Spaak, tied with looser Manfredi, impossible priest Vanni de Maigret, awakening sex instincts in Salvo Randone. A little confusing the 3 time structure, but OK Petrangeli.

High and Dizzy review

(In Criterion pack with "The Freshman")A bit whimsical plot, but stunning sequence with the 'walking sleeping' Mildred in the heights.

An Eastern Westerner review

Good parody of the west, with all that shooting and macho parafernalia. (In "The freshman" Criterion pack)

The Marathon review

(In the Criterion pack, with "The freshman"). Disconnectes gags of the little dog, the fights over Bebe Daniels, the disguise as a sister), but it has good pace

The Freshman review

Great film for being introduced to Lloyd. The gags have a strong basis of a jerk aspiring to be treated as a popular guy. His jig dancing ann kicking before saluting resumes all. The football at the end is a film inside a film.

Backlash review

Some dark,no nonsense undertones (Widmark slapping Reed, Barton MacLane being shot) in a liitle confusing and shortened plot. Sturgess is ok with action.

Daddy Long Legs review

Astaire so mature, so assured of what he can do sans fatigue; Caron so willing to learn. I regret Ritter is to sweet, but Clark and Keating are OK putting Astaire in his place. Great colourful set design.

The Boy and The Wind review

Daring (and not too sublime) erotization of wind caressing a young boy's complexion. Small world, well defined characters.
