Twilight review

Posted : 10 years, 8 months ago on 7 September 2014 08:44 (A review of Twilight)

It has everything to please without being abject:romance intertwinned with recycled myths of vampires, eternal youth, sexy freaks, school feeling, little town surroindes by nature, action, the baseball sequence.

Juarez review

Posted : 10 years, 8 months ago on 7 September 2014 08:35 (A review of Juarez)

Great cast (Aherne at its best, Bette great as always), some good failogues about monarchy and democracy, but so solemn regarding Juarez (a indian stiff Muni)and his inspiration on Lincoln.

All My Sons (1948) review

Posted : 10 years, 8 months ago on 31 August 2014 10:27 (A review of All My Sons (1948))

The support cast (Maddy Christians as the mother, LouisaHorton as Annie) is better than the stars. A concise, understandable adaptation of Miller, a bit week in its climax.

The Curse of the Dragon (1993) review

Posted : 10 years, 8 months ago on 31 August 2014 10:25 (A review of The Curse of the Dragon (1993))

(as a bonus in "Enter the dragon bluray)Just to have an honest insight in Lee´s biography, including friends and Linda Lee´s account. Sober speculations about his death, and his enemies inside Hong Kong's film industry and martial arts tradition. Tender and cool recall of the accident that killed Brandon Lee.

Enter the Dragon review

Posted : 10 years, 8 months ago on 31 August 2014 10:21 (A review of Enter the Dragon)

Just for Bruce Lee ballet, you must see it. Great, sexy in its violence, Lee with his blue clothing or with his blooding torso, is a piece of energy.

The Book Thief review

Posted : 10 years, 8 months ago on 31 August 2014 10:18 (A review of The Book Thief)

Artificial, a bit corny, anti nazis with martirdom aura, a kind of fantastic feeling in spite of realist credible story. Not even 3 stats.

Seeing Red review

Posted : 10 years, 8 months ago on 25 August 2014 02:50 (A review of Seeing Red)

Conventional, too many interviews with not too important people, commy activists. At least we have Pete Seeger singing and talking.

Fading Gigolo review

Posted : 10 years, 8 months ago on 25 August 2014 02:47 (A review of Fading Gigolo)

(Seen in cinema)A surprise. Turturro includes Woody's world in his own world. We see the intersection of both, the lights of decadence, the beauty of imperfection (the rude sex appeal of Fioravante, the bunny teeth of Vanessa Paradis)...

The Tribe review

Posted : 10 years, 9 months ago on 16 August 2014 10:55 (A review of The Tribe)

4 stars for being so rare, shocking, bizarre. We ignore deafmutes and they ignore us,they seem and inescrutable tribe for our conventions. There´s extrem violence but there is love, sickening love too (the boy kills to give money to the girl), ambitions (girls wants to go to Italy), and order.

Basta che non si sappia in giro! review

Posted : 10 years, 9 months ago on 16 August 2014 10:45 (A review of Basta che non si sappia in giro!)

3 stars just for the 2nd episode, with Manfredi being blackmailed (he´s gonna be fucked by prisoners if government doesn't answer thier request of free sex). Funny idea and social comment. Nothing of that sort is in Comencini skethc with Vitti and Manfredi or in the better sketch with Vitti and Dorelli.
