Underground review

Posted : 9 years, 10 months ago on 21 June 2015 12:16 (A review of Underground)

Thnaks to the remasterization. Asquith doesn't like to talk and in his avoidance of dialogue he boecomes realist. I like that and the tender approach to urban modern subway life.

Interstellar review

Posted : 9 years, 10 months ago on 21 June 2015 12:14 (A review of Interstellar)

I prefer the melodrama in the dusty earth than the space gravity odissey. Tle love above all 5th dimensional metaphisics is plausible thanks to the storng dramatic direction.

Buffalo Bill and the Indians, or Sitting Bull's History Lesson review

Posted : 9 years, 10 months ago on 21 June 2015 12:10 (A review of Buffalo Bill and the Indians, or Sitting Bull's History Lesson)

Bill & the injuns, there´s always a lot of characters and details in the frame. I like it, but I like more the autoritative automistycal character of Cody, and his yesmen. Greta narration by Burt Lancaster. Grerat no comment sequence of the meeting of presidente Cleveland with Sitting Bull. The chronicle of a fake epic hero and a sad defeated indian

The Believers review

Posted : 9 years, 11 months ago on 14 June 2015 05:08 (A review of The Believers)

A melodramatic beginning, police stuff, and fantastic overtones (good scene the insects in Helen Shaver face); but Schlesinger loses ellegance in the conventional intrigue.

The Homesman review

Posted : 9 years, 11 months ago on 14 June 2015 05:04 (A review of The Homesman)

Good subject, big trip, the moral relativism (such adventure with killings and the destruction of a hotel, the anticlimactic suicide of Swank, just to transport 3 crazy women)somehow collides with Lee Jones's whimsical character.

Last Year at Marienbad review

Posted : 9 years, 11 months ago on 14 June 2015 05:00 (A review of Last Year at Marienbad)

Ah, Resnais, the feeling is in the experiment, not too much in the story; my feelings are in the shape of landscpae, in the trees without shadows, in Seyrig rendering her texts

Gunfight at the O.K. Corral review

Posted : 9 years, 11 months ago on 14 June 2015 04:55 (A review of Gunfight at the O.K. Corral)

Great Sturges, he's the one of the best alliances of straightforward Hollywood comercial filmmaking, with good dialogues, acting and even social narrative. Here, the rude friendship between Lancaster and Douglas wins over classical romance lancaster/Fleming and patoligcal bond between Douglas and Jo Van Fleet. These two hace the best scenes.

The Interview review

Posted : 9 years, 11 months ago on 7 June 2015 09:42 (A review of The Interview)

All the scandal coud've been avoided just by changing references to North Corea for an imaginary crazy republic. An 'all is laughable' film with some black humor touches un the shitty song sang by a girl, private jokes as 'I've fucked more girl than Ellen de Generes' ant things like that.

The Finland Phenomenon review

Posted : 9 years, 11 months ago on 6 June 2015 10:20 (A review of The Finland Phenomenon)

Simple and boring, problems of language (the interviewer doesn't understand finnish), but a great subjet the relaxed and succesful education based on trust and the clues of learning, not on the subjetct to learn.

The Important Man review

Posted : 9 years, 11 months ago on 6 June 2015 10:17 (A review of The Important Man)
