Tear This Heart Out review

Venus in Fur review

Ok the quid pro quo between vulgar but intelligent actress and snob but correct autor director. Seigner (madame Polanski) is better when acting inside the 'play', and in her wild tongue in cheek dance. Amalric is a bit conscious he is an accidental (they are lookalikes) Polanski.

The Wind Rises review

Aerial design and romance in a war era,so delicate, humourless, soft paced, cof cof (the sick yong lady)in the wonderful soundtrack...

La Bandera review

L'un des meilleurs Duviviers. Exotism and romanticism matches naturally. Intense acting by Gabin and excellent Le Vigan (he supports the climax and the corpse of Gabin). Annabella is a guilty pleasure for the manin character and for Duvivier.

The Harder They Fall review

A bit trite and underlined (it's too obvious for everybody the every fight is fixed) but Yordan dialogues and acting (Bogart, Steiger, Sterling)make credible and exciting 50% of the film. Good use of street locations.

The Adventures of Marco Polo review

I like it as a 3 star, but in respect to history and autenticity In can´t rate it more. Everybody speaks the same english, act jelaous and romantically. If it weren´t for the gag of Gurie learning to kiss, and the discovery of pasta and powder, there wouldn't be the clash of worlds.

Two Days, One Night review

Un weekend, un enquete pour sa vie, mais tous est relatif. I love the most ambiguous, open and relatif sequences, as Marion smiling while listening a depressive song, or satisfied with her defeat.

You're Never Too Young review

Jerry is excellent, and is great making the girls dance at his zanny rythm. Martin has few things to do. You can understand why they split some films later.

The Most Dangerous Game (1932) review

Elegant, well paced, almost a pre Val Lewton RKO based production. I don't like Leslie Banks too much, but grat character the evil hunter. A bit too 'talkie' but it has a good end.

Sorry, Wrong Number (1948) review

Too aged. Its false modernism rests in its real time narration, but it is destroyed but too long pone conversations, !treated as flashbacks with their own pace!
