A Hatful of Rain review

Anything about drugs before 70s is aged. Zinneman films as a minor Kazan, street realism, strong performances (Franciosa is the best, Murray is ok crawling on his bro). The two day scrremplay is a bit forced, buy Mama (Hnery Silva), yeah he is nos aged, he is an anticipated character.

Haute Cuisine review

Anticlimatic, corny for moments, semi biography of the cuisiniere of a french president, je ne sais qui. Don´t, like the part in Crozet islands. I just like Catherine Frot and the real love for haute cuisine you can feel.

Waltz with Bashir review

You can achieve and try everything with this concept of animation. I like the recall and research of th epast style, the protogonist talking with friends and psichiatrists, trying to discover his role in a heavy national issue: the guilt of jews commiting a massacre of palestinian lebaneses in Sabra and Shatila, bieng compared with the holocaust. Great moments, the tanks over Lebanon with music a la 'Apocalipsis now', the waltz among the bullets, the dreams.

Jet Pilot review

Ninotchka in the air, stuffed with Hughes cold war pretentions not asimilated by Von Sternberg in his last sad film. Wayne is pure routine, Leigh is nice but too american, a real miscast in a role for a exotic beauty as Lamarr or Gardner.

The Family review

Blak comedy so light that you don't feel death and blood. Luc Besson proves is a good Hollywood artisan. Can´t stand the amaricanization of France and french language. De Niro mocks himself.

The Great Silence review

Great spaguetti, in the snow of Utah, with the hero killing bounty hunters, because in its relativisn, good is the poor ans straving bandit and evil is the bounty hunter. Kinski at its best. Great ending with a sense of poetic failure.

The Alligator People review

Moody, nice cast (Frieda Inescourt the best), good hand of Roy del Ruth, but poor mask (the ending suffers from it). I prefer the takes of partial alligator skin in Bruce Bennett and Beverly stumbling over a real alligator in the swamp.

The Butler review

An important movie, !eat that! Daniel tells all the 'history' of half a century and looses important scenes to depicts his character. Oprah has a better character than she thinks. The presidents are almost caricatures.

The Great Beauty review

The new Fellini, no discussion about that, with more diversity in music and characters (Sorrentino loves real music, and there are latinamerican characters. The friends og Jep (great Toni Servillo) have rich details and resist big lines. An extremely sense of decadense till the final segment with the saint and the flamingos and the room with a view in Rome.Is that something close to the grato beauty?

Hannah Arendt review

Good focusing in Eichman´s report viewed by Arendt, ant good character study of a woman the loves her husband, her friends and her thinking.
