Rogue Cop (1954) review

Posted : 5 years, 4 months ago on 13 October 2019 04:29 (A review of Rogue Cop (1954))

Good noirish (not too much, this in an MGM film woth Bob Taylor and cute Janet and Anne Francis) film by simple straight fact Rowland. Anne throwing a bucket of ice to George Raft, that's nice, Taylos as a crooked conscious cop trying to save his brother, that's more than nice plot

All the clisรฉs, but here's is an important for everybody hit, full of the warmth of american institutions, baseball, migrant dreams, even public relations (good ol Brennan), people of all kinds. The police acompanies Cooper/Gehrig to delcare to Teresa and to get, being just married, to the stadium

Ambitious, choral Verneuil, even everuthing is centerd on Quinn's charatcer. But he is, episodically, many characters made by others, includinnf the misisng link to arian origins. Add to this, the suicide of Reggiani, Virna Lisi and jews escaping holocaust

Castle Keep review

Posted : 5 years, 4 months ago on 13 October 2019 04:13 (A review of Castle Keep)

Surpising waht Pollack, thanks to lancaster presence, could do with a so big budget for an uneasy film like this. 60's wonder and wander. Art, dremas, fantasy (a soldier with a volkswagen in a pond), texts in off about war, big action....

The Last Outpost (1935) review

Posted : 5 years, 4 months ago on 13 October 2019 03:58 (A review of The Last Outpost (1935))

Good first part, epic and noble and a nice touch by Akim tamiroff; but then, the romance of two friends and Gertrude Michael, is just poor and stereotyped.

The Christmas Tree review

Posted : 5 years, 4 months ago on 6 October 2019 03:14 (A review of The Christmas Tree)

Unusually touching without even depicting the boy pain and illnes, but constructing the bizarre world of 'wild loups' his fahter Holden and good hearted Bpurvil and decoratif but understanding Lisi, build for him.
