The Legend of Tarzan review

Posted : 8 years, 7 months ago on 2 October 2016 03:50 (A review of The Legend of Tarzan)

Strange banalization of Tarzan becuase the film gets to its point relating the legend with wars of the time, american anti colonialism and kinf of politial stuff. Bah.

Julieta review

Posted : 8 years, 7 months ago on 2 October 2016 03:46 (A review of Julieta)

Se construye lenta hacia el centro pero remata rรกpido y bien. Julieta ha construido sus culpas y su hija es hija de las culpas, la deja y la quiere por ello. El misterio de porquรฉ se fue ocupa el lugar del drama.

A Married Woman review

Posted : 8 years, 7 months ago on 2 October 2016 03:44 (A review of A Married Woman)

Si improvised in dialogues, but not in the decision to sculpt, fragment Meril's body. Censorship determines as much as JLG what you see. Sex is explicit in words, bien sur.

Baby the Rain Must Fall review

Posted : 8 years, 7 months ago on 2 October 2016 03:41 (A review of Baby the Rain Must Fall)

Good atmosphere, innocent simple but compulsive McQueen and so indolent ans in love Remick: her final quote listing the 4 towns in texas she has been as a world adventure is great.

The Happy Ending review

Posted : 8 years, 7 months ago on 2 October 2016 03:38 (A review of The Happy Ending)

Brooks and Simmons are more than OK; but dialogues are so aged, selfconscious, almost lyrical in its meaningfull intentions. Women in spas has a kinf of antropological edge.

The Las Vegas Story review

Posted : 8 years, 7 months ago on 25 September 2016 01:41 (A review of The Las Vegas Story)

More romantic than noir. The idea that Price gambles his wife, a necklace and the money he hasn't, is not underlined as it deserves. Russell is better than Mature.

On Trial review

Posted : 8 years, 7 months ago on 25 September 2016 01:37 (A review of On Trial)

Switzerland is a good background to a sordid -even a bit washed- story. The paralell of Vanel's son and Vanel himself revisiting the case is ok. Grandma Berthe Bovy has the best lines.

The Emperor Waltz review

Posted : 8 years, 7 months ago on 25 September 2016 01:26 (A review of The Emperor Waltz)

Excellent. Not a minor Wilder. He makes a statement on monarchy and class division against singing american brute pragmatism, using wisely the clises. Fontaine is better than ever. More than austruhungarian monarchy, the satire goes to freudian psycoanalisis applied to dogs!

The Wicked City review

Posted : 8 years, 7 months ago on 25 September 2016 01:20 (A review of The Wicked City)

Ravishing Maria Montez. Illiminates (or gets noirish) everything. And has the dialogues for it, even inventing her birthplace once and again. Lilly Palmer miscast.

Jessica review

Good paced, choral, in love with Sicily, tolerant in name of chuch incarnated by Chevalier. Dickinson is sex in revenge but funny, never tragiv even Lisistrata is evoked.
