Good cheap natural in its exotism noir from John Farrow. Ladd has good dialogues against beautiful untrustful Gail Russell.

To Paris with Love review

Posted : 8 years, 7 months ago on 18 September 2016 02:41 (A review of To Paris with Love)

Too light, too easy comedy pushing Paris clisés to a idiotic extreme that converts the city in a small resort where everybody meets anytime by hazard.

Woman of Straw review

Posted : 8 years, 7 months ago on 18 September 2016 02:37 (A review of Woman of Straw)

Has its moments, especially with Richardson's hidden death, but resumes badly in the end. Knox is a lousy detective and Gina a stupid italian nurse till the happy end

Much Loved review

Posted : 8 years, 7 months ago on 18 September 2016 02:33 (A review of Much Loved)

Marrakech as never seen before, in and behind turism. Whores arent idealized, just depicted, followed in their routine. Not victims, not bitches. Even when they try saudi clients.

Mourir d'aimer... review

Posted : 8 years, 8 months ago on 13 September 2016 09:53 (A review of Mourir d'aimer...)

Too manipulating, but very well paced. Girardot is excellent in close ups, with just one tear. Pradal is too old and too miscast.

Circle of Love review

Posted : 8 years, 8 months ago on 13 September 2016 09:47 (A review of Circle of Love)

Vadim plays Ophuls in a lighter and sexier way (too many gentlemen with tricky hands while delivering good dialogue). Spaak is prettier than ever transformed by Bernard Noel.

Medeas review

Posted : 8 years, 8 months ago on 9 September 2016 07:33 (A review of Medeas)

Subtext is much bigger than text. You can't know theré´s a criminal mind there, even the trivia says that director Pallaoro based the idea on a criminal case. Nothing happens with mute Catalina betraying his husband with the gas station man.

Colonia review

Posted : 8 years, 8 months ago on 4 September 2016 05:19 (A review of Colonia)

Lousy thriller, with naif political background even it is based in interesting real facts. Emma Watson finds comfortable to express nothing as her role demands.

The Commune review

Posted : 8 years, 8 months ago on 2 September 2016 07:16 (A review of The Commune)

Ok feel of period. Some stereotipical guys in the edges and corny sides (the death of little boy), but gets intimate in the main family, in Anna's crisis and Erick's affair.

Requiem for the American Dream review

Posted : 8 years, 8 months ago on 2 September 2016 07:09 (A review of Requiem for the American Dream)

I won´t discuss Chomsky's abbility to explain and teorize, adding examples and references and 'historicizing' at the same time. It's a pitty, directors don't pause to resume or contrast. They just count 10 principles.
