Rams review

Sheep and men so intertwinned that theyยดre the same linneage attacked by a rare virus. Everything is rare in this Iceland.

Bumping Into Broadway review

Posted : 8 years, 10 months ago on 30 April 2016 11:59 (A review of Bumping Into Broadway)

Lloyd here is as romantic as Chaplin and Keaton sacrificing his small change for a girl. Then, the slapstick over stairs and stage. I like Helen Gilmore, the landlady.

Duel at Diablo review

Posted : 8 years, 10 months ago on 29 April 2016 09:14 (A review of Duel at Diablo)

Better than Nelson's overrated "Soldier blue". Sargent Travers is ok dying slowly, Bibi has a decent Hollywood debut, Garner has his moments, and Poitier too light.

Two Men in Manhattan review

Jazzy, classy, noirish, Melville collection of femmes fatales (and lousy actresses, but who cares) and one stupid french diplomat dead.

And Then There Were None (1945) review

Posted : 8 years, 10 months ago on 26 April 2016 06:25 (A review of And Then There Were None (1945))

The cast and Clair's savoir faire, rescue the film from teh schematic plot, full of self conscious and predictable intrigue. Huston and Fitzerald are the best.

Vengeance Is Mine (1979) review

Posted : 8 years, 10 months ago on 21 April 2016 10:51 (A review of Vengeance Is Mine (1979))

Great. Thriller, essay on assasination as a fascination. I love the encounter between Ogata and the old lady killer. Complete amorality is impossible, Iwao (great Ogata) has his affective and moving limits.

Dark City (1950) review

Posted : 8 years, 10 months ago on 20 April 2016 05:46 (A review of Dark City (1950))

Good first part, decaying till the end. The dilemma of having caused or not the death of Don de Fore, is not too devastating on Heston, till he meets widow Viveca Lindfors. Lizabeth Scott, good hearted soft noir lady.

Cul-de-sac review

Posted : 8 years, 10 months ago on 20 April 2016 05:38 (A review of Cul-de-sac)

Psycho comic thriller in attractive space (the ebb tide that isolates the fortress, excellent), Lione Stander great comic playing straight.

The Hurricane (1937) review

Posted : 8 years, 10 months ago on 20 April 2016 05:26 (A review of The Hurricane (1937))

Great. Everything on disaster movies is already here. A bit corny and denying of its anticolonialistm motif; buy moving in every scene of mytical John Hall escape from Tahiti. Ande very sexy...

Crimson Peak review

Posted : 8 years, 10 months ago on 12 April 2016 09:49 (A review of Crimson Peak)

Del Toro's big deception. Ok tale, pretty decors, pretty evil Chastain (far better than Wasikowska); but horrible ending, full idiot plot.
