Microbe and Gasoline review

Posted : 8 years, 5 months ago on 14 December 2016 08:27 (A review of Microbe and Gasoline)

I'm not sure if Gondry wanted a youth film with one foot in french naturalism oe if it is result of some weakness or indefinition. Anyway the wheel ouse is a nice moving image and Theo/Gasoil a nice character.

Shoot Loud, Louder... I Don't Understand review

Posted : 8 years, 5 months ago on 12 December 2016 02:21 (A review of Shoot Loud, Louder... I Don't Understand)

I saw this for love of Rachel, familiarity with Marcello and respect of Eduardo de Filippo and his napolitan way. Poor story (more dreamy than absurd as it pretends to be)

The Unforgiven review

Posted : 8 years, 5 months ago on 12 December 2016 02:17 (A review of The Unforgiven)

Underrated Huston in spite of its lousy treacheroos everybody saved but the indians at the end. Great story, really unforgiven heroe Lancaster risking his family for love of sis Audrey.

The Boy and the Beast review

Posted : 8 years, 5 months ago on 12 December 2016 02:14 (A review of The Boy and the Beast)

Nice animation, better in the human modern world ant the interface; not so much in the beast world. Hosoda imposes his rythm, his codes of honor.

Slingshot review

Brillante is not brilliant; just dinamic, violent, effective. The false doccumentary style is a little tiring.

The Last Wagon (1956) review

Posted : 8 years, 5 months ago on 12 December 2016 02:09 (A review of The Last Wagon (1956))

Deceiving. Widmark is ok seeming to be a very bad guy in the beginning, bot in th eminute you see he is the fantastic heroe; the film becomes corny.

Rio Conchos review

Posted : 8 years, 5 months ago on 12 December 2016 02:05 (A review of Rio Conchos)

God save Gordon from the oblivion. O'Brien fading hieratic while his ruined palace is exploding is the nearest to Leone Hollywood could get in tne middle sixties.

The Lovemakers review

Posted : 8 years, 5 months ago on 12 December 2016 02:03 (A review of The Lovemakers)

Bolognini at its best; decadence in people that hasn't even reach luxury or modernity. Claudia (excellent) and Jean Paul so condemmed lovers that become tender when harder they pretend to be. The feudal background of the heritage is just that and ok.

Regarding Susan Sontag review

After this, now I know Sontag, even with some ideas well explained. Good testimony of previous female lovers.

Nahid review

Sincere. Nahid is really stupid to tolerate such mysoginistic system against her. Iranian conformist realism.
